Halloween Challenge

This challenge is for a Halloween theme.

Your piece must be an original story that fits within the VS "fanon," at least 35k and should have one or more of The X-files characters in a situation that involves this scary time of the year.

Here are some suggestions for your submission, though they do not have to be limited to these few ideas:

For writers:

• Mulder and Scully at a Halloween party.
  
• A case happening around Halloween
  
• A spooky encounter with any of the X-files characters.
  
• Trick-or-treaters visiting either of our agents' apartments.
  
• A first-person narrative or monologue concerning a paranormal experience.
  

For artists:

Any type of static art piece or pieces with a Halloween theme, in jpeg or gif form. No larger than 1024x768 please.

Some rules of thumb for writing your special challenge:

Remember, our season only includes TV show canon up through Season Seven's "Je Souhaite." No submissions will be accepted involving baby William, Doggett, or Reyes. Also remember, the Lone Gunmen, Krycek and CSM still live in our universe!!

Characters from the Virtual Seasons 8 - 13 may be used ONLY IF YOU HAVE ASKED THE PERMISSION OF THE ORIGINAL AUTHOR. Otherwise, stick to your own characters and those who are a part of The X-files original cast like Mulder, Scully, Krycek, CSM, the Lone Gunmen, Skinner, etc.

Please spell-check your story. The producers will not be putting these through a beta process. So it is a good idea to have your piece beta'd by someone before submitting to us. If you can't get it beta'd, please at least do the spell-check. Otherwise, everything gets posted as-is.

When you are ready to send in your piece, e-mail to VS 14 Producers.

We will accept your submission as MS word document or plain ascii text file.

The VS assumes a two week exclusivity to your "special" submission. That means you may not submit it, or have submitted it, to any other list or archive until that week is up. After that, feel free to post it anywhere! It's your work after all.

HAVE FUN WITH IT ! This is your chance to get creative! If you're not suited for writing long case files, this is the perfect opportunity for you to get involved in our season!
